Bli gvol: A great way to say “no limits!”

Partner Relationships

Just one of the reasons the North of Israel is the ideal location for a new kind of culinary institute is its thriving tech scene.  GCI partner Fresh-Start FoodTech Incubator was established early 2020 at the north of Israel, tapping into the surge of Israeli foodtech start-ups, creating a vibrant and dynamic ecosystem.

Foodtech is an ecosystem made of all the agrifood entrepreneurs and startups (from production to distribution) innovating on the products, distribution, marketing or business model. This is just one of the themes explored in-depth through the GCI program.

We believe that innovation sparks innovation.  In our program, you will collaborate with partners like Fresh-Start for out of the classroom experiences and for feedback and proof of concept for your culinary ideas. It is important to understand that Israel, as a culture, is not afraid to fail. There is no stigma or negative connotation with trying something that doesn’t work. It’s instead viewed as the ultimate learning opportunity and embraced as part of the process to finding a winning concept and business plan.

What are the entrepreneurial elements of this program?

The entrepreneurial elements of this program are infused in every decision and every part of the process. The GCIs mission is to educate and create a program that fosters industry-ready students with the knowledge and a background in entrepreneurship and hands-on experience.

We do this through opportunities such as:

  • A flexible program that ebbs and flows with the changes in the world and the start-up and entrepreneurial culture.

  • Opportunities to contribute to personal and environmental responsibility and stewardship across the food ecosystem.

  • Mentorships and mentoring opportunities with entrepreneurs in all aspects of the food world, from agritech to water tech to food production.

  • A toolbox of reflection and lifelong learning through authentic experience, human relationships and personal responsibility.

  • Business, social media, and marketing courses.
