“In the middle of a difficulty lies opportunity.” Albert Einstein

Our journey continues into 2024, marked by both progress and the ongoing trials that define the current state of our beloved Israel. I want to share with you the spirit of resilience that propels us forward, even in the face of adversity.

On the frontlines of our vision, we are making significant strides. Our culinary program is evolving, strategies are being refined, student applications are coming in, construction is progressing, and decisions regarding the second building and equipment acquisitions are in full swing. We are committed to advancing every aspect of the Galilee Culinary Institute by Jewish National Fund USA because we believe in its transformative power.

While we focus on moving forward, we are not oblivious to the challenging reality that surrounds us. The continued war demands our attention and empathy. It is a stark reminder that, as we build for the future, we must remain grounded in the present. Our hearts and thoughts are with our soldiers and the captives still being held hostage.

One of the remarkable traits that make Israel unique is our collective fortitude. No matter the circumstances, our spirit pushes us forward. We recently had a team discussion emphasizing the importance of this forward momentum. The consensus is clear – nothing will deter us from creating this game-changing culinary institute. We also know this doesn’t happen on an island so having everyone's continued support is crucial.

Amid these challenging times, we count our blessings. We are fortunate to be able to continue our work on the building, with most of our teammates contributing their skills and dedication. This is a testament to the strength of our community and our shared commitment to GCI's mission.

As our teammate Dovi and other loved ones remain in battle, their safety and well-being are at the forefront of our minds. We continue to send prayers for their protection and a swift resolution to the conflict. We are not merely enduring this challenging period; we are emerging stronger, more united, and resolute on the other side of our mission.

I want to express my gratitude for your unwavering support. Together, we are navigating these stormy seas, confident that the strength of our community will guide us to calmer waters.

We should all be blessed to have a great 2024, successfully ending the war, rebuilding and helping those who have battled heal, and for days of peace and prosperity.

L'chaim!
