“I work hard, and I play hard. I’m grateful for life. And I live it – I believe life loves the liver of it. I live it.” Maya Angelou.

We celebrated Thanksgiving this year on Shabbat with family and friends. It’s amazing how when you just stop and think about life; it’s super important to be grateful for the gifts you have. We were able to celebrate with our grandparents, Mimi and Pop Pop, a couple that just got engaged, lone soldiers, local friends and not so local friends. It was a beautiful meal where everyone shared what they were most thankful for and just hearing everyone’s story or words of wisdom were inspiring. My wife shared how she was super touched having her grandparents here and what it meant to her having them shlep to Northern Israel to be with our family. It was truly a magical weekend.

Since it is the holiday season, I think reflecting on what you’re most grateful for is a good way to frame your daily perspective. This is something I started to do at night, reflecting and writing 5 things that I’m grateful for. It is a great way to enhance your mood prior to sleep but it also encourages you to see more gratitude during your day.

GCI wise, I’m grateful we are making excellent progress on the construction. Check out the pictures below for some of the latest updates. We are also in interview mode and I just spoke to a candidate from Uganda who has such an inspiring story. Equipment is close to being finalized and we are gearing up for 2023 which is right around the corner. Our team is super busy working on a new website, systems implementation and analysis, budgeting, social media, human resources and everything else in between.

Our What’s Burning podcast continues to provide great information around the culinary industry, and our last three episodes getting into Beer, the Cronut and food photography. The lineup is only getting better so stay tuned every other Wednesday if you want to learn about the hottest topics in culinary.

I want to wish everyone an amazing holiday season, with good health, joy, success and being able to enjoy all that life sends your way. To those who are celebrating Chanukah starting tonight, it’s a holiday all about light as I’ve stated in prior years, doing more good to make the world a better place. So, no matter what you do and no matter where you are currently in the world, it’s up to us to do our part. Sending blessings of love to the GCI family.
