A Word from Chairman Steve Dabrow
There is a growing sense of momentum at the Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF. With each passing week, what we have envisioned for so long is becoming real—not only in the buildings and programs taking shape, but in the people and partnerships coming together around GCI by JNF.
Across the campus, preparations continue for the opening of the Rosenfield School of Culinary Arts and the arrival of our first cohort of students in January. Our farm is entering its next phase of development, with fall planting beginning in September so it can serve as an active outdoor classroom from day one. And I am delighted to share that our restaurant now has a name: Restaurant Galil. Following several successful pilot events, our culinary and hospitality teams are refining the menus, service, and guest experience ahead of its official opening.
We are also building an exceptional team. This month, we welcome Narkis Dahadi as Hospitality Manager and Adam Renbaum as Sous Chef. Both bring tremendous experience, energy, and a commitment to creating something special here in the Galilee.
Just as exciting is what is already happening on our campus. Recent gatherings with JNFuture and Israeli Young Leadership, the Tachles Forum, donors, partners, employers, and regional leaders have demonstrated that GCI by JNF is becoming much more than a culinary school. Even before our doors officially open, it is emerging as a gathering place where people can exchange ideas, build relationships, and work together toward a stronger future for northern Israel.
That is ultimately what GCI by JNF is about. We are building a world-class center for culinary education and hospitality, while also investing in the renewal and growth of the Galilee—creating opportunity, attracting people to the region, and showcasing everything this extraordinary part of Israel has to offer.
There is much more ahead, and I look forward to sharing it with you. I also hope many of you will join us at Jewish National Fund-USA’s Global Conference for Israel, November 12-15 in San Diego, where GCI by JNF will be front and center.
Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey and for believing in the future of the Galilee.
Warmly,
Steve Dabrow
Chairman
Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF
